 SPECIES AND GUIDANCE…Brown Trout and Perch

This is the largest tarn in the Lake District, Situated at an altitude of 766ft and has a maximum depth of 46ft. Due to the sparse and low bank side vegetation the tarn lends itself perfectly to the fly fisherman. The trout are free risers from May onwards when the naturals begin to appear at the surface is good numbers. Devoke is a super place for the evening rise in the summer months. Both experts and novice alike may enjoy sport in majestic surroundings. The maximum number of trout to be taken in any one day is two. Members are requested to check all people fishing in the vicinity of the tarn and to evict any non member that is fishing. No member using a boat for fishing must set foot or anchor onto the island. All members are allowed to use their own rowing boats on the tarn up to a maximum of five boats allowed at any one time each day. Please park off the track to keep access clear. The boat house and pier, like the island are unique features of this beautiful fishery, care must be taken to preserve them for the future. Camping is not allowed on the shores of Devoke water. Petrol outboard driven motor boats are not permitted onto the tarn.
